Ok so we want to be snipers, and we have tons of information on guns, techniques and the like, now let's talk about standards, rules, code of conduct, . . . .
Anybody want to share their experience and wisdom? Let's make (and hopefully adapt) a set of rules such as minimum engagment range, FPS . . the usual stuff. .
These rules will become our code as 1AD snipers. I say 1AD because I envision us as honest and honorable individuals. Kahit di mag hit ang kalaban mo, then it his dishonor, basta ang alam mo you hit the target.

To start with:
Minimum engagement range: 100 ft ?
FPS Limit :500 FPS (max)?
Hit reqion : Primary area : Torso : Secondary area: Extremeties
Weapon Type : Primary: Bolt, Gas :Secondary: AEG, Gas
Mandatory : Snipers should have a secondary weapon for close range
engagement. Such as an AEG or a Gas Gun.
Anything else . . . . .

For low end gaming?
500fps BASRs are capable of reaching a maximum range of 300feet with a precision accuracy of 250feet (well adjusted guns). This is when the limit of 100feet engagement range is set.
If you guys play with stock guns then an additional 100fps will do. Doesnt have to reach 500fps so long as you have range and precision advantage over your opponents.
Why engage over 100feet? Tactical strategy. Its not only for safety of players. Read my other post in this section where this is explained fully. If you cant understand why snipers practice this... go back to being assault.
AEG secondary? What, like an mp5k? Preposterous... a pistol will do. Not only will another primary class rifle weigh you down... it will snag on vegetation.
You only shoot when it is absolutely needed. You dont need that many guns and ammo.
May I suggest the ff:
No full auto for guns 500fps and above. No AEGs. BASRs only.
BB weight is limited to .25grams (no metal bbs)
Snipers have to be registered and approved by a governing body. If he is found to play unsafely and has a track record of being an arshole, then he will be prohibited to use his sniper rifle. He must be well versed and briefed to sniper rules and conduct.
A written and approved set of rules must be set for these kind of players.
Absolutely no headshots.
Limited ammo for snipers.
No other players can use his rifle unless the player in question is an approved sniper class member.
One mistake and your out. Must absolutely follow code of conduct and sniper rules.
Must have a set of rules for punishment for erring snipers written clearly for everyone to see.
...are not allowed to do assault work unless with the use of a pistol.
Must be shot by his own rifle at a certain range he wants to engage and at a certain fps he wants his gun to be (as a reminder that his gun can inflict pain if he does not follow engagement limit).
With much power comes great responsibility. Must be a respected member of the club. No newbies allowed until he has proven his maturity.
You cant play sniper all the time. Needs another set of rifle/gun for other play types he will be playing (eg assault, support. etc)

Amen to the regulating body for snipers. Specialy with the advent of cheap but powerful Gas sniper rifles like the KJW MK1 and M700s... these can easily be abused by shady airsofters out there... delikado tayo nito... nice idea sirs... hope you can follow through...

... and I use to be the only one in Davao who was crazy obsessed by this. Until a few years ago there was only two BASRs owners/ airsoft sniping afficionados I know in Mindanao.
Bakit biglang nag ka-interest mga tao ngayon? Ang hirap laruin netong playtype na eto. Most of the time ala ka kills.
Since BASRs are easily modified in the feild (especially gas BASRs) to shoot at high velocity. Find a way to limit cheating chronoes.
An unscrupulous member might have two sets of gas canisters. One for chrono (134a) and one red gas... He can be shooting 450fps then 500fps the next within a couple of minutes.
Do not allow any sniper to open their BASRs once it has been chronoed for the game (for spring BASRs).
I suggest you guys buy proper chronographs. Dont just use coke can chrono testing. Its unreliable.
... and dont just trust members. You can use heavier bbs to pull down fps then use regular bbs in games to pull it up again. When doing chrono testing, use verified bb weighs.

noted on that sir, good thing you bought it up, I was thinking along the same line eh. Cguro one reason bakit dumadami ang gustong mag sniper is medyo nagiging affordable na rin ang mga BASR's. Yun din ang isang challenge eh, coz mahirap laruin ang sniper role, getting a kill is just one of the perks, but being able to conceal and camouflage oneself without being detected is part of the challenge too.

yup! ngtitipid mga tao ngyn sa bb's at bumababa na din and presyo ng mga BASR's hehehehe...d best ang sniper kya lng limitado ang sceneario's...im buying 1 BASR's maruzen kng baba na ang presyo...still aeg pa rin primary...sniper wana b eh hehehehehehe

now back to the topic...most of the game scenarios i've encountered here are cqb's & fastball types...thus reducing the need for snipers. siguro most players would want to cost-cut on bbs kasi mahal, tinatamad ng mag-assault, gusto maiba ang baril sa karamihan, attain high fps at a cheaper price.....  |
