1st of all i want to congratulate all the teams who won the concluded "Blackhawk Down in China Town" tournament...There are some things that i want to voice out in the so called airsoft tournament.. There were more or less 14 teams who joined this tournament... and it was round robin or i think double round robin..
POINT NO.1
The organizer's of the tournament stated that the tournament would start at 4:00 PM. Or so it was adjusted to 6:00 PM, BUT, the tournament started at almost 7:00 PM. Ok we understand the "FILIPINO TIME". so that was understandable.
Point no. 2
The said tournament was a night ops type of game right? the problem is, how would the marshals be able to see the bb's if there was no proper lighting? I think all the teams who joined the tournament would be able testify or prove that there wasn't enough light to help the marshals give the proper hit calls.
Point 3
The nets that they used were too short or even not enough to prevent the flying bb's from going out of the game site and hitting the people outside the site. Yes they announced that spectators may watch at their own risks. They warned the spectators about it. and yes there were also some people who were hard headed and still insisted in going near the perimeter fence the "net" and some of them got bruises in their faces. But here's the problem, even the people who are far from the perimeter fence were also hit by the bbs from the teams who were playing in the site. And those people were just passing by.
Point 4
This is what i would like to STRESS out. The organizer of the tournament gave each participating team a copy of the schedule of the games. And in the said copy, THERE ALL IN ALL 78 GAMES. But the problem is, after game 42,43, or 44, there was just silence in the game site. It was 5 minutes before the Chinese New Year, so we all thought maybe they paused the games to give way for the Chinese New Year Celebration which was 12:00 right? Now, the countdown began, and then the clock struck 12. we could hear people shouting, drums beating and even see the lion dance from afar. And then maybe after 5 minutes or so, we were just surprised upon hearing from other teams that the tournament is over and the awarding ceremony would take place. We were shocked. And then we just saw the people on the stage holding the trophies and celebrating their respective team's success.. to our dismay, we approached the stage and talked to the respective body who caters to the grievances of the participating teams or any player who joined the tournament. We asked them, why were we not consulted? and the person who disrespectfully answered, "WALA BA MO NAMINAW?" which was very ungentlemanly of an airsofter. They said that they announced that all team leaders should approach the stage. But the problem is we couldnt hear the announcements because of the noise of the players, the spectators, etc. The person incharge told us that all the team leaders of all participating tournaments agreed to end the tournament because it was already midnight. Really? they asked all the team leaders of all the participating teams? How come we weren't there to discuss that with them? Ok it may be our team's fault if we overheard the announcement. But it is still the organizer's duty to reapetedly check WHETHER ALL THE TEAM LEADERS were present for the discussion..Is that what you call a FAIR DECISION? The organizer gave each team a schedule of the games. There were 78 GAMES all in all, but only more or less 43 games were accomplished. Is that your term of being fair sirs? With all due respect sir, to the organizer of the tournament, you shouldnt give a game schedule which you couldnt even finish. It's like promising a kid that you would give him a candy and then you would just take it back and eat it? If given the chance that the 78 games would be completed, there were still some teams who had a fighting chance. In the remaining 30 games that was not met, each team had atleast 6 games left so each team may still have the chance in winning the championship spot or even atleast making it to the top 3 or enjoy atleast the remaining games that they have paid for. TO THE PERSON who catered us in our inquires i do hope sir that you would atleast answer in a gentleman like manner. We just hope that the next time you host a tournament, atleast dont give the participating teams FALSE HOPES. And please be PROFFESIONAL next time you host a tournament.
Again to the winners of the tournaments, you did your best and congrats to everyone..
