i had stumbled upon this o-ring which has a different design. it came along with the piston set that i had recently purchased. it has a slit/groove within its inside diameter and was wondering on what's the purpose of this design concept. does anyone have any ideas? here are the pics i took of the o-ring. i couldn't make a review out of it if it would result to a fps gain or stable fps readings due to better sealing of the cylinder set. i was more interested with the installation of the new piston body and the old o-ring installed in my gun still does its job well. its just recently that i had discovered about this o-ring after cleaning my toolbox. if any of you guys have inputs regarding this o-ring please do share. kay kapoy baklas ug baril just to make a review. hehehe. ;D ;D

I think its for air to force the o-ring to the cylinder for more seal.. since the incoming piston that was released will compress the air, this cavity inside tends to expand when compressed air is applied.. making the o-ring flexible for sealing.. nice concept but would it be durable enough for a long time? For the safe side, try to use the same old o-rings, but for curiosity, it wouldnt hurt to try.. ;D

tingin ko naga make sense yung design ng o-ring,pero mag work lng yan sa mga ported na piston head, parang yung space sa gitna kay mag catch ng air then mag expand ang o-ring para ma sara lahat ng butas around the o-ring

ganyan din design nung oring sa piston head ng hurricane tune up kit. wala man masyado difference. nung nagpalit ako ng area1000 na piston head na old style yung o-ring. same lang fps. walang gain walang loss... ;D

kibitz me, mga kasama?
most probably designed to improve the performance ng o-ring. if you do a search for o-ring mats/designs you will probably come across different shapes for different applications. hindi pa yan masyadong ginagamit sa ersop so this split o-rings may be the start of a significant trend.
