Actually the mk1 carbine is a high powered pistol accesorized to look like rifle. The longer barrel and buttstocks are just screw ons... easily removed within 5 minutes.
If you ask me, its the best bang for your buck. Not as accurate as my aps type 96 though... remember, you get what you pay for.
Affordable BASRs are really costly to make upto par with top of the line BASRs. If you want it to perform upto par, you'll have to upgrade lots of things, you'll have to customize a lot of parts...... and it still wont shoot as accurately and precise compared to a maruzen class rifle. remember its made out of cheap parts thats why cost is low.
Sa kakatipid ninyo lalo kayo mapagasto... sige kayo.
APS type 96 ko mamanahin pa ng apo ko. Ganun katibay ang expensive rifles. One time gasto, pero sulit. Kompara mo sa mura pero lagi naman nasisira... aabot ang panahon na makakabili ka na ng magandang rifle sa gasto mo sa repairs.
Psst, dangers sa gas BASRs are the airseals ha. remember that chemical gases eats away rubber gaskets. It will experience wear and tear. Fortunately these rubber gaskets are available on local hardware stores. Maglakad lakad na kayo sa uyanguren to find replacement parts.
Mahal ang gas ha. You wiull have to buy that everytime maubusan kayo.

noted on that sir dens, yung aking kc got a good deal, at upgraded to the specs na naisip ko. matagal kc mag ipon eh, so ito muna para masimulan ang pagiging sniper hehehe.
For the airseals, no problem, andyan naman ang simplex. as for the gas sa tipid ng shots mtagal na rin maubos ang gas. pag nakabili na ng pure BASR's eh di gawing side arm ang MK1 at least di sayang yung bili ko ng MK1 may fall back sya. hehehe.
syanga pala ser dens, in terms of upgrade cost is it correct for me to assume na mas malaki ang gastos upgrading a VSR than a maruzen rifle to make it perform at par?
MAgkano na ba ang type 96 ngayon?

MAgkano na ba ang type 96 ngayon? There was actually a discussion about this on another US based airsoft forum I administer. For high upgrades 500fps and above... parts where written down/listed as well as prices of each. It was compared to an aps sv. VSR won the cheapest until someone put in a custom stock for the VSR that sky rocketed the price. The aps won eventually since its stock dont need replacing anymore (its not as flimsy as the VSR's). APS type 96 stock bolt action bolt handle can widthstand a 500fps spring. It doesnt need replacing. Its stock internals can also widthstand a 500fps spring upto a point... it will show signs of wear and tear at some time though but will last much much longer than a VSR with stock internals on the same spring. Last I bought the APS type 96 it costed around 18.5K (all stock). Plus full upgrades, custom paintjob, custom parts and accessories... all in all gumasto ako around 40 to 50k. Special shipping/order pa eto since no shops carry bolt action rifles before. Ganyan ako ka obsessed in airsoft. I dont care what the cost is basta makuha ko gusto ko. Fortunately it was the best buy I ever made. It never has broken down on me... furthermore doesnt show wear tear one little bit. Ask farmasita about my rifles' durability and precision. He has first hand experience with it and is one of your own. Oh by the way... at 450fps spring for maruzen class rifles, you dont need durability upgrades yet. It can run with stock internals (except spring). Durability upgrade parts and precision parts are different okey. ALL BASRs need precision upgrades to make it shoot precisely. Iba pa yung barrel spacer, iba pa rin yung zero trigger, tight barrel... these are precsion upgrades.

Na busy ser, actually gamay pa lang man gud ang true snipers ngari, as in those using BASR's kasagaran long rifles with full auto capabilities tapos lagyan ng malaking scope. Ayun sniper na. Not that I despise of them, but if we would follow it to the code then konti lang talaga ang masasabi na snipers ang ang primary is a BASR's since most games sites are CQB, lahat gamit full auto.

Yes thats the problem with the sniper playtype... you cant play it in some game scenarios and sites. Mostly marksman naglalaro. Hirap kasi laruin neto.
Just curious. How many of you are playing it right using the right weaponry?

im sure there's quite a few... ako nga eh, wannabe rin hehehehe but ive been playing sniper during the early acm games... well springer gamit ko nun, takot lahat ng kalaro ko sa akin hehehehe sa rules... no headshot? why that's almost the only thing u can always spot in long range games! most of the time, sumisilip lng mga tangos mo... makikita mo lng yung body if the contact is on the move... and thats pretty difficult to hit. cguro namn @ 100+ feet, a .25g bb flying @ 500fps would't hurt that much. besides, its only one shot. also, most players have head protection din naman... aim @ the mask na lng para cgurado ndi masasaktan

Ser Dens,
Honestly don't have the exact figures, pero in my team apat kami meron DE M50 BASR. This may not be at par with the high-ends, I myself use a DE M50 that shoot at 350FPS on .25, BUT since we play in a jungle environment. I get more hits knife killing opponents. As a matter of fact, I get a kick at just staring at a target na pinapadaan ko lang in front of me para yung isang kasama ang tirahin ko.
You may say 350FPS is too low for a sniper rifle, but with very close engagement ranges due to foilage why use high FPS, masaktan mo lang ang friends mo. Knife kill ko na lang, parang Benicio el Toro sa The Hunted, wahahaha, feeling!

Well... no tactical range/distance advantage but if it works for acm games, then have a go with it. Wow, my gbb pistol shoots harder than your sniper rifles... I thought you guys have already elevated to AEGs @ 400 to 450fps?
How many fps does the assault guys have? 280fps?

400-450 yes
most of the acm players now have that limit(s)...
but some keep their limits under 400 less pain for em more fun on the other hand..
