Don't get me wrong sir Dens, that's just my rifle, but in general most airsoft players are now running somewhere from 375 - 480 FPS. Though several months back we have agreed on a 350FPS limit. But due to the availability of upgrade parts, anyone even with chicom guns can go beyond 400FPS easy.
That's why when there's a tourney, there will always be a low and high FPS category. But if you will observe majority of the participants will be in the High FPS category which is <450 FPS limit.
And I have seen assault rifles upraded to beyond 700FPS. I do hope its just for the sake of learning and experimentation and not to be used in a game. And those that use above 500FPS are responsible persons.
I know a lot of Airsofters will attest to that. Anyway I just hope that at the end of the day, everyone will remember that Airsoft is supposed to be FUN and we end up having new and more friends than enemies. Just my two cents.

I'm glad that most of the players who have probed the extreme FPS envelope have now come to realize that extreme FPS does not equate to extreme fun. On the other hand- it does give extreme pain to the body and the wallet(when parts break).
Snyper- akyat na natin to 450fps yang BASR mo sir... pag maganda performance/durability nya sa power level na yan- tiyak bibili na rina ko. Hehehe... nasubukan mo na yung Edgi Barrel???

Snyper,
Di ka lugi with your range? Your opponents have higher fps and auto firing option.
Sandman,
Thats why snipers have a minimum engagement limit. One bb, even at 500fps, shot at 150feet isnt as painful as a volley of bbs at 380fps shot at 30feet *wink

Di naman tama yan. Higher fps is good for bigger feilds (since players shoot mostly at a distance)... not CQB environments.

Just would like to share my Sniper Code of conduct: "The Gun of an Airsoft Sniper Holds Greater responsiblity in the field of airsoft games, One cannot be a Sniper if he cannot control himself"
1) Know yourself - as an Airsoft sniper one should consider his/her ownself attitude limit, if we consider ourselves the cool one,the better, if we are the hot headeds dont be a sniper.
2)Respect our fellow players- in the game of airsoft respect is the key. if we are a hot headed person, there will be instances that we forget about respect, we just shoot blindly without considering the outcome.
3)Range- this is always the first element of sniping, Know our range, How far is 5meter?,10m?,20m?50m?
4)Shooting - Body Shoot this is the Standard target of an airsoft sniper 20-40meters target range,4.1)Legshot, standard target shoot 15-20meters distance 4.2)USE of Backup gun or knifekill under 15meters target range. 4.3)Option: Headshoot-50meters away(your option if you can do it,just make sure you are not really concealed, or else they can plan a move to eliminate us) 5)Take out the key players- Gunners are the most annoying player, they normally stop your group in engaging effectively, next are the rusher, without the gunner they cannot move, take this out and they are all in defensive mode.
6) Be humble- it does not take out any of our pride but an add on to our respect toward others, lastly enjoy the sport!
fyi-this is my opinion, i just hope my inputs could be of help. Cheers.

wow, this thread came alive once more. mrdoksniper are you from Davao too? I haven't seen an L96 in action in local games. Laro kayo kasama namin ni ser ps6379. Pati si ser denski imbitado ka. Btw, I have seen lots of BASR's that are upgraded to the point na d na pede ilaro. I have this idea so we can make use of those heavily upgraded guns, Why not play target shooting. Lets use the silhoutte shooting format used in airguns with targets at varied ranges from 20 to 40 yards.

My bolt action rifle is now 650fps... not for gaming anymore.
I cant play the sniper playtype anymore with the current trend of CQB tournies. I miss the bivouac days. Snipers are getting set aside because we are totally useless for CQB tournies.
If this goes on, my sniper rifles will gather dust. I'm getting tired of doing assault... walang thrill.
Err... 40 yards (120feet)? Sure... my rifle can do twice that hehehe ;D
Why not get together muna mga airsoft snipers ng Davao? Brain storming over coffee. Bring your rifles. Sagot ko coffee hehehe Ilang bah airsoft snipers rito?

Sige kay bili na ako nescafe 3 in 1 hahaha
Davao marksmen and sniper's league anyone? You dont have to quit your own teams. Just a gathering of marksmen and snipers from different teams to talk shop and show off rifles. For the purpose of inter team camraderie and the propagation of the sniper playtype.
Might as well be a marksman and sniper accreditation so others wont fear us weidling high powered rifles. Davao teams can send their MEMBERS who are intersted to be marksmen and snipers to the league for evaluation. If they cant pass the evaluation then they wont be accredited as marksmen and snipers who are allowed high powered rifles.
Just a little idea for you guys to mull upon... hehehe
Sige nga.. ilan bah lahat sniping nuts sa Davao? Baka lima lang tayo lahat, eh totaly useless mag create ng sniper's league.
ASG Davao count is one... ako lang isa ever since. Ilan sa inyong teams?
