Greetings. This thread is targeted at those who want to join ACM games but don't know what to buy.
I'll just make a quick guide now and expand it later on when I have more time okay...
Here goes.
Double Eagle:
M82(Sig 552)- Generaly accepted as the most powerful of the DE line-up. It's usualy 5-10% more powerful than the M83 but this is a case-to-case basis and there are SOME m83s that are powefull also. I don't think POWER should be a factor in selecting this gun over the others. The best feature of this model is it's small size and sleek ergonomics. With the stock folded, the gun is almost as small as an MP5. Unofortunately, magazine capacity is pitiful(approx 34-36rounds) due to the smallish size of the magazine. This is easily remedied by connecting 2-3 magazines together. Some units also exhibit flaky operation of the fire selector/saftey lever. Adjustable HOP up.
M83(M4)- The largest selling ACM in the market and with good reason. Based on the popular M16 family, this ACM has the most "recognition appeal" of any other ACM on the market. Generaly accepted to be the most accurate ACM in DE's lineup. It also has decent power that some claim also equals the M82. Great range due to the adjustable HOP UP. Also very sturdy and dependable. Magazines can hold 40+rounds of ammo but cannot be connected together easily. Most have to resort to duct tape or masking tape but then that's how our real soldiers do it in the field anyway so "realistic" din naman sya na technique. Generaly- a nice all around ACM.
M85(G36c)- Well known as the newest kid on the block. THe M85 has lots of macho apeal and offers the largest magazine capacity(46+) of any DE ACM. Connect 2-3 M85 magazines together and you'll have enough ammo(almost 150rnds) for almost any skirmish! If you want MAX ammo capacity and a DE based ACM- this is the ticket! Also smallish if the stock is folded but the receiver design is a bit bulkier than the M82s. Adjustable HOP UP.
GOLDEN BOW
MP5 SD6 - PROS: Before the advent of the STEYR AUG, this was known to be the most powerful AEG ACM around. The gearbox is based on the TM ver. 2 gearbox and it also sounds like a TM. Since it's an MP5 design, it's a lot smaller than the DE assault rifles. The colapsible stock makes it even smaller and you can remove the suppressor to make it even shorter.
CONS: However, it was soon proven to be a fragile unit due to it's metal pinion gear that ate up the plastic bevel gear. Another weak point was the trigger mechanism. The thin contact points often break down and there are no replacement parts available. Often, you just have to modify and fabricate your own replacement parts for the trigger mechanism. Also has miserable magazine capacity of approx 24bbs per mag. Worst handicap is- no adjustable hop! kahit malakas sya bumato ng BBS, di naman uma-angat dahil walang backspin. Ends up having shorter effective range than the DEs. Pero sa close range, mas malakas talaga sya. Ok for CQB- kung matibay lang sana. Pero kung MP5 talaga gusto mo- yung MP5SD5 na lang with improved gearbox.
MP5SD5- a fixed stock version of the MP5SD6. There are several enhancements with this model. Particularly the new adjustable HOP that improves range considerably and allows you to use .20g bbs. The larger capacity(50rnds) metal magazines are also a welcome additon. However, early versions had fragile gearboxes made of transparent materials that would break easily. Even it's gears were prone to breaking. There is a newer version now though with an enhanced gearbox, piston and cylinder. If this unit proves itself in battle- then it would be a great alternative to the DEs. I have high hopes for the new version, ask me again next week when my sample arrives.
CYMA
MP5J- The first ACM on the market with a hi-cap mag. 150runds per mag! Do i have your attention now? No need for extra mags, although it does have a non-hicap extra. Slightly less powerful than the DEs due to it's smaller spring and lower power battery(4cells vs 6cells). Most die hard ACM players would MOD their MP5Js with DE inernals to get the best of both worlds- HiCap magazine with DE power and reliability. Make no mistake though, even the stock motor is powerful enough for ACM games. No need to go overboard.
AK47- For those who want something different. I have no personal experience with this unit- so kung sino naman meron dyan- review nyo naman.
Mossberg Pump Action(springer)-The most powerful SPRINGER on the market today is ALSO THE CHEAPEST! Known to puncture the sides of empty COKE cans and shatter CD cases with ease. Don't let the single-action fool you. The pump action design is very fast and can even rival semi-automatic fire in capable hands. High capacity gravity fed magazine is enough for one engangement without reloading. One big disadvantage is the lack of sights and accessory mounting rails. This hasn't stopped many hard core ACMers from modding these guns into SUPER-SHOTGUNS. Perfect "ZOMBIE KILLER" if loaded with .20g BBs and fired between 10-20ft! OUCHIE!!!
BOTH ELEPHANTS
Steyr AUG- The latest and arguably the GREATEST ACM on the market today. very closely based on the TM version. The gearbox is als based on the TM version3 gearbox. Even sounds like a TM! More powerful 8cel battery pack drives a much larger motor than the DEs pushing a much much larger spring and piston assy. No major problems in quality and duarability so far but then again, this unit is still fairly new in the market. Only time will tell if it will rival the DEs in reliability. Also a fairly accurate ACM as long as your HOP is properly installed. Unfortunately, this unit doesn't have an adjustable HOP UP so you can't realy tune for .12 or .20 bbs. Either your gun will shoot one or the other but NOT BOTH accurately. 20% of the steyr's Ive seen prefer .20bbs but the rest shoot better with .12s. So... test your unit before you buy. Preferably on a long-range setting. Kapag papunta ng langit ang mga .12s nyo at the end of it's trajectory, try using .20bbs.

AKS-74U
I don't realy like the simulated wood. The first thing I'll mod externaly would be to repaint the wooden panels with dark gray just like the pictures on the box(bakit di na lang nila ginawa yun in the first place). The weight is just right and the size is perfect for CQB manuevering. I didnt realy notice any power advantage over the M83s though.
The high cap magazine realy needs to be "cranked" often. One burst of full auto fire is all it can deliver before you have to start cracking again. Medyo matagal naman din maubos ang bala ng hi-cap. I doubt if you'll need to change mags during a short game unless you're using your AK as an LMG laying down suppressing fire.
TO BE CONTINUED:
feel free to ADD your own reviews guys.. di ko kayang bilihin/subukan lahat ng mga ACMS sa market. Hehehe.. I wish...
