mga sirs observation ko lang po. . .

I made my decision. It's up to you mga sirs kung ano ang gus2 nyo para sa airsoft. All I have to do is to play. I know that someday you can come up with an idea to improve airsoft and make it a healthier and happier kind of hobby.
Thy will be done.........
I'll just keep my mouth shut......

When you've been around airsoft for so long, you'll learn that variety is what makes airsoft popular. People have different preferrences, thats the way things are. There will be people who prefer no hassle easy going weekend games, there will be competitive people who prefer playing in tournaments, there will be people who just prefer collecting airsoft items, there will be people who prefer speedball, there will be people who prefer milsim, there will be people who prefer open FPS games, there will be people who will prefer limited FPS games... etc.
There use to be one pioneering airsoft group here in Davao. This separated into two clubs: One preferred open FPS games and the other became a close knit group, secretive and private. MEMBERS where not allowed to play with other local groups or in tournaments except with sister chapter clubs. FPS limits where set strictly to 450fps and only a select few where invited to play with them. Doesnt want headaches from other groups... doesnt want politicking or to do anything with other groups. Preferred games where exclusively weekend games (CQB, Jungle, Urban)... the only time they play in events are with the mother chapter's tournaments in Cebu. Most where just weekend warriors. Hence, they where tagged as elitists... social upperclass snobs.
A few competitive MEMBERS started questioning the way the group was runned and wanted to change public perception of the group. They had defied administration orders and played at one of the tournaments being held by ACM groups that sprouted up during those times. Because of this, the group broke in two... again. Alot of MEMBERS who where caught in the middle didnt want this to happen and was furious about being forced to choose which group to side with. I was one of those who where caught in the middle.
Everything could have been solved if it was opened to compromise. There should have been no problem setting up different classifications inside the group (non playing collectors, milsim players, tournaments players, weekend warriors, pistol players, etc).
You just cant decide to ban all tournaments at a whim (or any classification of airsofter for that matter). What will happen? Small groups with no gamesite of their own and no clear administration policies will disappear. They exist because there are events they can join in. Sooner or later there will be fewer clubs... most will be absorbed by larger and more organized groups. Sooner or later only 2 groups will be left... again. ACM forum will not exist if there are only a few clubs left.
Banning tournaments here in Davao have no real impact for larger groups. These groups play elsewhere since time in memoriam. These groups have been organizing tournaments for sister clubs around the country to join in well before events where opened to the airsofting public at large. Tournament or not, they will still exist as time already has proven. What about those groups who cant afford to send contingents elsewhere? No gamesite, no clear administration policies, no sister clubs to play with... too little and too few MEMBERS?
Again... "There should have been no problem setting up different classifications inside the community (non playing collectors, milsim players, tournaments players, weekend warriors, pistol players, etc)." One class group must not be allowed to dictate the other classification of groups but all of them must work in unison for the general good.
Use to be, Davao is known for its well organized events. Because of politicking, those who do organize successfull events here in Davao are now thinking twice. Now, there is a void... other Mindanaon cities are stepping up to fill that void... and they are becoming more and more adept in handling large events.
Davaoeños, welcome to the wonderfull world of travel expenditures just to join events. Large groups can handle these types of things... can you?
You still have weekend games? The problem with stagnation is people get bored easily. You'll find that you have fewer people to play with when there is no variety. Even tournaments gets taxing at times when you've played too much. Notice that fewer people play at tournaments. Its all a cycle. One minute people like jungle games, the next minute people like CQB, the minute after that... back to tournaments.

ACM forum will not exist if there are only a few clubs left. Nag-hibernate ka yata time na nacreate ang ACM Forums sir denz Nandito na ang ACM forum at mas marami ang mga team even before Airsoft tourney started here in Davao. ACM forum started after a few years(one or two years) noong lumabas na ang M83, BE AUG, etc. Almost one or two major gamesite lang gamit ng mga ACM Teams noon. The one with mapa street(cqb style) and one with along Angliongto Street(Jungle style). Not to include the Awol gamesite sa Lanang, sa Bahay nila Sir Stan(the original Ronin, Night Crawlers), Sa bandang likod ng Jap restaurant and the 3.5hectare very thick jungle gamesite namin sa Catalunan. Mas maraming technique paano ka makalapit sa opposing teams, The most enjoyable game kung mas marami kang na knife kill. Mas enjoy noon kaysa ngayon dahil dami namin ;D All teams invited noon, parang fiesta, parang picnic. We do have a Big Games, not one but almost 4 Big Games. Comes the 1st Airsoft tourney, lumabas na ang mga Hi-end Airsoft store, and then another tourney...dito na unti unting nawala ang ibang Teams. Edit(i am using my xda) and Add more mamaya, papunta pa ako sa office.
