@ sir 9th
Its okey sir you can comment and reply all you want. I know you and you know me. I know we can discuss things maturely and share ideas. Unfortunately everyone dont always agree on some matters. Both of us are not immuned to this. Its only natural. Its what makes life interesting.
Policies during that time was created to answer a need. There was a logical and valid reason. Rules where not established on a whim. Carefull thought has been put to it. Since there is no need for strict exclusivity policies anymore, our group opened up. Our fears came true but what have we got to do but adapt to the changing times. Funny thing, we've never questioned how other groups managed themselves but others seem to question how we run our club. We're one of the oldest clubs here so we must have done something good to last this long.
Its really your call guys. I'm just merely giving my thoughts about things when compromises are not being done and a group of persons dictate terms against another group of persons who have a reasonable following... rebellion usually arises (reasons why teams, clubs and organizations break up). There are quite a number of people who are competitive in nature and needs to play in competition games. Although I'm not one of those who belongs to the competitive class of airsofters... I still do try to walk in their shoes and try to feel what they feel. The only reason why I play at national events in Cebu is because of the RAW night... most people know that already. I do have an insatiable apetite for women. The only reason why I play at select tournaments here in Mindanao is because my team mates asked for support... and I am feircely loyal to my group. Its really a big headache for me to do damage control in FAS everytime a fight breaks up between ASG and other groups. I also even sheild Mindanao groups so that their dirty laundry is not hanged out to dry for people around the country to read. It gives us Mindanaoans a bad image in FAS.
My two cents on the improvement of the hobby? Variety is needed to fulfill needs of airsoft collectors, milsim players, tournament players, speedball players, weekend warriors, airsoft practical shooters, bivuoac players, etc to keep people interested in airsoft.
Even without tournaments there will always be fights. Case in point: Manila offers gamesites that are open to the public for a fee. Different kinds of people and teams play on the weekends with each other. Even without tournaments, ill-tempered people still manage to enter in all sorts of violence against each other.
Banning tournaments is not the answer. The root cause is much deeper than that and it is not so simple to erradicate.
But... since its not a total ban you guys are asking then you guys must be thinking of something else and my replies no longer apply.

im not into total ban of tourney, but it should be held only once a year, maybe during christmas season ( maraming pera ang mga tao that season ), we should explore other type of games aside from tourney. mind of airsofter here in davao are being conditioned by some kind of puppet master, into believing that tournaments is the end goal of our beloved hobby.
there are a lot of suggestion being presented in this thread, i hope that we can consider some of them.
for the love of the game, as we always said.

Another more alarming concern - Food for thought:
Ratio and proportion -
1. Number of disappearing/dying teams versus Number of new teams being established? 2. Number of newbie applicants versus Number of applicants that came from other teams? 3. Average people you play with on the weekends Versus The number of members in your club? 4. Same faces Versus New faces? 5. The number of applicants Versus the number of members laying low from airsoft? 6. Current average size of each team Versus past average size of each team? 7. The number of airsoft puchases from airsofters Versus the number of airsoft purchases from non airsofters (Army, police, navy, real steel hobbyists, etc)?
Is it just me or others have been noticing a slowdown of airsoft new blood and growth in Davao City in general?

Force on force tournament seemed impractical and too competitive lately. We can hold something that will test ourselves tactically without involving an opfor - a tactical challenge. In this match, we still use our beloved AEGs and GBB. It challenges not only our shooting skills but also physical strength, stamina and agility.

How can we attract new airsofter and bring back those who left the game for various reasons? Any suggestions? attracting new airsofters? just let them see us play, thats why we cant afford to have violence during our games if we want new recruits and as for the veterans, you cannot....they are airsofters after all, they know where to buy guns they know where to play basically they know the drill.... they'll come back on their own (if they want to) its like having a beatles reunion with the original band MEMBERS.... @ sir bumblebee long time no see sir......muztamos! ;D ;D ;D
