My primary purpose in playing airsoft is to grow in terms of skills and tactical knowledge and to gain friends. I voted against stopping the tournaments.
Each time my team-ASG Davao (Barbie Dolls) comes back from a tournament from out of town our bons gets stronger. We learned from each other's mistakes and successes. We reprimand unsportmanship and laud initiatives. I agree we can not take away dishonest all the way but at least, we rely on the prudence and alertness of the marshals and the organizers after the player failed to check himself.
Overall, tournament will build camaderie and harmony within your team and with other teams as well. It will also help you be physically fit and tactically apt.
Just my opinion.

NO, tourneys are avenues for airsofters to play with other airsofters from different groups, we tried to play only within the group then, but eventually sum-ol na ang dula, you play with the same persons/robots, though we cannot separate the fact na dili parehas ug disiplina ang mga grupo, but we must always bear in mind one thing, we join tourneys first for fun, the love of the game, and to make friends.... secondary na lang ang winning the whole damn tourney. No man is an island & we learned that the hard way

i personally dont know any of you guys here in davao since i am new here.. i will probably get to know you in the future... one thing i have learned and observed through life's experience is that generally all "team oriented" or even "individual" based competitions may it be sports or another has and will suffer cheating. it is embedded in our genes as humans. it is by nature. one good consolation though is we tend to correct our mistakes that we incurred from the past. one thing we can do to help prevent it is by careful and strategic planning. now with this said.. don't be afraid of losing. its a part of life.. now with this said and mind you this is getting a bit long.. the next time around.. enjoy it. have fun. and always remember that its only a game.. even life is.. ;D
